About Pastor Dan Moushey and His Family: 2009

Welcome to the Community Bible Church! It is wonderful to have you with us. Our desire here at CBC is to welcome and serve you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who has lovingly served us.

My wife (Kimberly) and I are native to the town of Granite Falls; graduating from GFHS in 1988 and 89. We attended the Granite Falls Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for over 16 years. It was at the C+MA that I became a Christian (1989) and completed my schooling, training, and seminary (2005). Also during this time God had blessed us with 4 wonderful children, along with a fifth whom we were blessed to adopt in 2005.

I have had the great privilege of being the pastor at CBC since May 2005. I love it! It is an awesome role, and I don’t take it lightly. I am truly blessed to be given the freedom and responsibilities of ministering on behalf of the Lord Jesus Christ. My main priorities are teaching, preaching, and praying that the body of Christ might be built up, edified, and equipped for the furtherance of His kingdom for His blessed namesake. There is no better place than to be where you know God wants you to be. There’s no greater feeling than to know you are at peace with God…Are you at peace with God?

If you see me limping around, it is because I have an artificial leg. I mention this for two reasons, #1) because you probably will wonder why I limp, and #2) because I would not be here at CBC without it. In 1986, I was in a terrible car accident. I lost a dear friend, and it was only by God’s mercy that I did not die as well. I ended up with serious injuries to my back, abdominal region, and losing my left leg. My world crashed down all around me… I was devastated; my life in an instant had spun out of control. From this tragedy, I have come to understand a profound truth; no human being is in control. The tragedy: Many people fight the wrong battle; while trying to maintain some kind of control, we often miss out on the One who is. It was only after my accident that I began inquiring about the Creator, only after did I realize my greatest need was for His forgiveness, and it was only after my greatest loss that I would experience my greatest gain; in August of 1989, I finally surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, placing my trust in Him, and received the salvation He was longing to give to me. In reality God is the Good Shepherd seeking to find us; the question is: do you want to be found?

"I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ," (Phil. 3:8)
"What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?" (Mark 8:36)
